Min wants to take phone location out of communication privacy law

MOSCOW, Feb 4 (PRIME) -- The Digital Development Ministry has prepared a bill excluding location of a phone from privacy of communication, Deputy Minister Oleg Ivanov told PRIME late on Wednesday.

"The Digital Development Ministry of Russia has prepared a bill amending the federal law On Connection in part of clarification of the Privacy of Connection article in the framework of the order of the president he gave after a meeting with representatives of the Civic Chamber to amend legislation to search for lost people, and in the framework of the Digital Environment Regulation bill of the Digital Economy national program," Ivanov said.

Ivanov said that coordinates of lost people will be of a great help to rescue teams.
